Lauren and Chase exchanging vows at Sun Valley’s Galena Lodge in Ketchum, Idaho.
Lauren and Chase are such a vibrant fun loving couple who enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and sports. They decided to have a destination Sun Valley Wedding at Galena Lodge. With panoramic views of the Boulder Mountains, the couple were surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Since Lauren and Chase live out of state, we met for the first time during their wedding rehearsal. The rehearsal dinner took place the day before the wedding in a private estate minutes from Sun Valley. Lauren wore a fun gorgeous Great Gatsby esque dress by Nadine Merabi. The wedding party consisted of 9 bridesmaid and 9 groomsmen, also from out of state. Sierra Saletta, from Little Bird Events, did a great job managing the large wedding party and family for the ceremony. After connecting with common interests like Tennis, Pickleball, and running Track, I definitely had an affinity for this fun Colorado couple and their entourage.
“Chase and I met in Denver, Colorado. Something about a bar and a Superbowl … We had the most beautiful wedding 6.5 years later, captured by Bernadette of Bramble and Vine, in Sun Valley, Idaho. A lot of people asked, “Why Sun Valley?” For a couple of (very meaningful) reasons. Rewinding a few years to my childhood, my family would take my sister and me to Sun Valley every holiday, particularly Thanksgiving, to prepare for the upcoming ski race season. We’d stay at The Lodge or The Inn, ice skate, ski, and enjoy time with family and fellow ski friends. I even broke my leg on top of Baldy when I was eight – one of 14 broken bones. Turns out, Chase’s family owns a house in Gimlet, a few minutes outside of town, and has been visiting Sun Valley his whole life, too. We like to think we crossed paths on the ice-skating rink or at the ski hill as kids.”– Lauren (the bride)
The wedding day started with the girls getting ready at the Sun Valley Lodge . The guys got ready at a nearby condo. BA Makeup Co was on the scene taking care of the bride and bridesmaids’ hair and makeup.
Lauren’s dress featured a 3D floral lace and strapless bodice pattern. The shape was in a mermaid style by Australian’s luxury bridal brand Made With Love from a&be Bridal in Denver.
After Lauren’s getting ready shots, her sister got into her own wedding dress. Her sister’s dress was from her own wedding from the past , which she had packed for this sister occasion. The two sisters then shared a few photographs together in their wedding dresses— a special request from the bride.
Just 30 minutes North of Sun Valley Lodge is Galena Lodge– where the ceremony and reception takes place. The historic Lodge lies in the expanse of a National Forrest with beautiful trails and amazing views. The venue can holdup to 200 people for a wedding. Senate meadows offers a panoramic wide backdrop of Galena Peak and Boulder Mountains.
Before the bride’s first look with the groom, Lauren requested a first look with her Dad. As Lauren approached, her father turned around to surprise her with her bouquet by Rust and Thistle. It was definitely a sentimental moment for the two of them.
After Bridal Portraits, we headed over to the meadow for The First Look with the bride and groom.
The bridesmaids wore a dusty rose lilac repurposed satin Anya dress by Grace Loves Lace. These dresses are so on trend for 2023. The best part is that they can be worn again for any event or night out. The groom and groomsmen wore blue suits by Generation Tux. The combinaation of blue and dusty rose dresses expressed a cool lovey color palette for this summer wedding. Undoubtedly, we arranged family portraits before the ceremony. This allowed Lauren and Chase to spend more precious time with their guests during Cocktail hour, we scheduled
For the ceremony, guests hiked 5 minutes from the lodge and crossed a little bridge over a stream. Wood benches faced an expanse of scenery with an outline of mountain tops. This panoramic view was allowed to be enjoyed with a half arch of greenery and roses by Rust and Thistle.
Lauren’s nephews came down the aisle with a red wagon. Live violin music by Katherine McKenna played as Lauren and her father walked down the aisle. Galena Peak in the background set a serene mood for the ceremony as Lauren and Chase exchanged vows.
Afterwards, the 150 guests walked back to the lodge for cocktail hour. Tables were clothed in lavender linens by BBJ La Tavola under a tent. Chargers from The Little Gem Details, and napkins from Flying China decorated the tablescape. Also, off to the side were wood skis and a scrap book for guests to sign. A polaroid camera was available for guests to take pictures of themselves. Next, they were to paste their polaroids with a written message to the married couple into the scrap book.
Every guest was on the dance floor enjoying the beats by DJ Vince (VCI Audio Entertainment).
